Baird Independent School District is a 1-A district located in Callahan County, approximately 15 miles east of Abilene.  The district has two campuses: Baird Elementary, which serves students from PK–5; and Baird High School, which serves students in grades 6–12.  This district has a total enrollment of approximately 300 students.
