Baird ISD Superintendent Dr. Tim Little has served the students of Baird ISD since July 2020. He began his educational career as a substitute teacher in the Spring Branch ISD, and later taught high school English at Phillis Wheatley High School in the Houston ISD. He left education for a time to pursue opportunities in the private sector but returned as a teacher and coach at Jasper High School in the Jasper ISD, where he taught high school mathematics, computer sciences, and debate. He served as a middle school and high school principal in the San Augustine ISD. Dr. Little served as superintendent of the Ben Bolt – Palito Blanco ISD and later as superintendent of Perryton ISD.
Dr. Little holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He earned his Principal and Superintendent certifications from Abilene Christian University, where he also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Dr. Little has also earned a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
A native of Lufkin, Texas, he is married to Meredith, a career educator who currently teaches online and dual-credit college history and government courses. They have two children, Michael, a talented musician currently residing in Houston, and Josephine, an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin.
