Student Enrollment

Enrolling new and returning students at BISD will be done completely online through our BISD Ascender ParentPortal program.

A valid email address for parent/guardian is required.



For Parents/Guardians of 7th Grade Students

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of immunization requirements that will impact incoming 7th grade students. Students entering 7th grade are required to have the 7th grade dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine for individuals who have not already received those vaccines (age 12 vaccines).

Please contact your health care provider or local health department if your student needs these vaccines. For additional information about the vaccines and diseases they protect against, visit the Center of Disease Control and Prevention’s website.

Please be prepared, on the first day of school, to provide proof of immunization (i.e., Certificate of Immunization [TX Immunization Report]).  If we don’t have the actual immunization report, we don’t know that the vaccines were given and your student will be prohibited from attending school until proof is received. Staff will be on campus from 8am until 4pm, Monday through Friday, records can be dropped off prior to the start of school.

Principals are required by law to prohibit any student from attending school until proof of immunization of the required vaccinations have been supplied to the school office. Please be proactive and get your child’s vaccines completed.

Setting Up Parent Portal

  • If you are new to Baird ISD, you will need to create an Ascender ParentPortal Account. 

  • Once you are on our Ascender ParentPortal page, click on "Create Account" and follow the on screen instructions.

 If you already have an Ascender ParentPortal account, log onto your account, go to “My Account” then click “Enroll a New Student”.

After you create your ParentPortal Account, you will then go to "My Account" and then click on "Enroll a New Student".

When you are logged onto your ParentPortal account, you can always click on the "?" button in the upper right hand corner of the page to get Help with any part of your ParentPortal. :-)
