Baird Students Create Change That Strengthens School and Community
Texas Midwest Community Network (TMCN) Leadership Program Highlight
This year, four of our outstanding Baird High School students — PJ Luper, Kyera Byars, Brooklyn Manasco, and Kendell Miller — worked under the mentorship of Gloria Dayton and Lori Higgins to complete a project that will have a lasting impact on our community.
Through the TMCN Leadership Program, these students gave their summer, their energy, and their hearts to create a new Whistlestop Pocket Park downtown. Their work not only provided a safe outdoor space for the Little Bear Learning Academy but also strengthened childcare access for families, which is vital to the growth of Baird schools, businesses, and our community as a whole.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the students and their families, our mentors and leaders, and all the sponsors and supporters who invested in this project. Your dedication helps make Baird an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
