Weather-Related Update for Baird ISD Staff and Parents

Baird Independent School District is closely monitoring the weather forecast for Thursday, January 9, to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. Current forecasts indicate periods of rain with areas of freezing rain possible during the day, followed by snow showers in the evening. Some icing and light snow accumulation are possible. The most severe weather is currently expected to remain east of Baird.

  • Daytime Forecast: High of 37°F, with a chance of rain tapering to showers. Areas of freezing rain are possible, with SSE winds at 5–10 mph.
  • Nighttime Forecast: Low of 31°F, with snow showers possible. Winds will shift to the north at 10–20 mph.
  • Travel Conditions: Potential icing and snow accumulation may impact road conditions.
