Baird ISD is now accepting referrals for students who may need Gifted/Talented Services for the school year. This program is designed for students who exhibit intellectual and creative thinking abilities at an extraordinary level, not normally served in the regular classroom. Services are provided only upon identification of the educational needs of the student.
Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Baird ISD, in first through twelfth grade, this school year is asked to fill out the online referral form . All kindergarten students will be given a basic screener, and if additional testing is recommended for a student, Mrs. Williams will contact the child's parent/guardian. This form must be returned to the school by December 13. Those unable to fill out the form online should call 325-854-1400 ext. 105 to request a form be sent to them.

We are wanting to gain insight on how school counselors and staff are engaging family and caregivers of students as it relates to student advising and post-secondary opportunities. We have created the following survey to request feedback that will guide our changes and improve how we serve our students. Please be totally honest in your responses as the survey is anonymous.

How social media savvy is your child?
|
If your preteen or teen is using social media, or asking to get started, it's a good idea to talk with them about it. Parents and caregivers can help children have healthier online experiences by guiding them to use social media safely and responsibly.
Based on your responses, you'll find tips and advice from our experts to help guide your family conversations.

TX Midwest Community Leadership Network Project
|
To say we are proud of these students is an understatement.
Jacob Gerngross, Lacey Isenhower, Westen Isenhower and Taelor Stephens attended the Texas Midwest Community Network annual conference and learned that their Leadership project “When Seconds Count” finished third.
They received a check for $1,500.
It was an amazing 911 project that will benefit the citizens of Baird, and we were thrilled to guide them through this process.

Congratulations to Philip Trammell for placing 21st out of 62 trombones in a tough competition including 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A districts.
He was the highest ranked trombone from all public schools classified as 1A or 2A.
