Tips for Parents - Digital Citizenship

In the last six weeks, K-12 students have been going through Digital Citizenship lessons.  They have learned:
  • What digital citizenship means
  • About cyberbullying (what it is and how to respond)
  • Digital footprint (what you do online is permanent)
  • Digital world basics/social media (don't talk to strangers or share personal information)
  • Media literacy (types of media and how to evaluate them for reliability)
  • Privacy & Cyber Awareness (be careful what you share and how)
  • Tech Laws & Age Appropriateness (ratings matter)
We have used the Neptune Navigate Curriculum. They have a section for Continuing the Conversation  at home for parents on their website. Please take some time this summer to review what your children have learned and talk to them about it. It is never too early or too late to have those conversations.
